01 / CHALLENGE
The Challenge
Area planning needs many data layers together — administrative boundaries, land use, infrastructure, population — but these live with different agencies, in different formats, some still on paper maps.
When the layers cannot be combined, questions like “which areas sit beyond the defined distance from a service point?” are slow to answer and hard to repeat. Much spatial decision-making ends up resting on experience rather than verifiable evidence.
02 / APPROACH
Our Approach
We designed a system that imports spatial layers from many sources into a single PostGIS base, standardizes coordinate systems and layer structures, and presents everything on a web map with overlays, filters, and per-feature detail.
Analysis tools let planners compute service coverage by real distance, compare siting alternatives, and export results as datasets ready for plan documents. Every analysis is reproducible under the same conditions for transparency.
